Love put Jesus on the cross

When I first saw the love cross I thought the design was too simple and abstract to really catch on.

But, the more I looked at it I realized the subtleness of it was really its strength. I had to continue looking at the design and ponder on what it could really mean. For me, it was suddenly clear, love is what put Jesus on the cross. Being beaten and crucified with no escape is one thing, but Jesus could have escaped that fate... but choose not too for love's sake.
